Release From Bondage

All three bodies are of one person’s journey through bondage.
The nude figure, “Temptation”,— olive skinned and lying in a supine position, flushed with desire and tormented by the lure of temptation reveals  with the thorn at her side:

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance
of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me,
a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
Concurring this thing I pleaded with the Lord
three times that it might depart from me.
1 Cor. 12:7, 8

For what I want to do I do not do,
but what I hated to do.
Rom. 7:15

As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it,
but it is sin living in me.
Rom. 7:17

I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature,
for I have the desire to do what is good,
but I cannot carry it out.
Rom. 7:18

The center nude figure, “Surrender”—
expressing submission, shame, remorse, agony, and repentance is touched by the grace of God:

Out of the depths I have cried to you, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
Ps. 130:1, 2

And the nude figure, “Victory”
which stands ‘risen’ triumphantly in its golden toned body edifies His loving faithfulness
having not allowed His child to be tempted beyond what she was able:

We have escaped like a bird out of the fowlers snare;
the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
The Maker of heaven and earth.
Ps. 124:6-8
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.
1 John 5:9

And the myrtle, which now grows where once was a thorn, adorns the side of His child.

As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
And do not return to it
without watering the earth
And making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower
and bread for the eater,

So is MY WORD that goes from MY mouth:

It shall not return to ME empty,
But will accomplish what I desire
And achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;

The mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
And all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

Instead of the thornbush
will grow the pine tree,
And instead of briers
the myrtle will grow.

This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
which will not be destroyed.
Isaiah 55:10-13

“There’s nothing like having a true affinity with your subject matter.  In the mountains I can at times feel the invigorating sensation of the blood coursing through my veins in wild anticipation of my response to the elemental forces in such grand surroundings.”
