Brief Synopsis There is no better way to understand visual arts than to connect these two passages from the New Testament: And the Word (logos) became flesh and lived among us . . .
He is the image (eikon) of the invisible God, Christ the Word is also Christ the Image: Logos and ikon. He who became incarnate became the visible image of the invisible. And today we meet him not only with our ears but also with our eyes. |
